Trainer Tony Villani Brings Professional Training Curriculum to High School Athletes
Trainer to top collegiate and professional athletes brings pro-level curriculum to high school teams and their coaches through SpeedTracs™
MARIETTA, GA – (July 15, 2010) – SpeedTracs™, the premiere provider of sports performance enhancing software and equipment for high school athletes, announced today that master trainer Tony Villani successfully trained 14 athletes at the 2010 NFL combine including Clemson WR Jacoby Ford, who SportsIllustrated.com called, “the fastest player at the combine.”
Villani’s acclaimed training curriculum – the core of the SpeedTracs training program – enables high school athletes to train like professional athletes on their own campuses and under their own coaches.
Villani trains some of the most accomplished athletes in the country including players in the NFL, NBA and top NCAA Division I teams. At this year’s NFL combine, 14 of his collegiate athletes worked out in Indianapolis including superstars Eric Berry, Jahvid Best, Ricky Sapp, and this year’s standout athlete, Jacoby Ford.
Of Villani’s 14 athletes at the 2010 combine, eight earned the distinction of “top performer” in the 40 yard dash by NFL.com. Seven were named top performers in vertical and broad explosion, and seven were top performers in the shuttle and three-cone agility category.
SpeedTracs provides affordable, pro-caliber speed and agility training to high school athletes across the country. Through Villani’s proven curriculums, teams can train together on their own campuses and under their own coaches using speed development techniques formerly only available to elite athletes.
“Tony’s ability to train athletes to reach their fullest potential is absolutely unparalleled,” said Matt Thompson, founder and CEO of SpeedTracs. “We are honored to have a trainer of this caliber behind the curriculums we offer our high school athletes. There is nothing more powerful out there today to make these athletes more competitive.”
Throughout his career, Villani has trained over 200 professional athletes including NFL Super Bowl champion and Pro-Bowler WR Jermaine Lewis, two-time World Series champion and playoff MVP Craig Counsell, World Series MVP and two-time All-Star MLB manager Bucky Dent, and tennis superstar Ivan Lendl. He has also developed and conducted sports camps for such NFL stars as Jamal Lewis, Hines Ward, Wayne Gandy, Deshae Townsend, and Jason Allen, enabling some 8,000 young athletes to train alongside their professional role models.
Villani is a widely recognized expert trainer and has been featured on ABC, ESPN, NFL Films, SKY Network, Raycom Sports, USA Today, The Sporting News and many other national publications and media outlets. Today, through SportsTracs and his own company, XPE Sports, Villani trains thousands of high school and college athletes with his performance curriculums, which use the same techniques the professionals trust.
“These programs are what professional athletes use to increase their speed and performance,” said Villani. “Now high school athletes have access to the same training the pros use. As a trainer, it is both rewarding and exciting for me to help these young athletes become even stronger players and come that much closer to achieving their goals.”
The SpeedTracs program includes equipment, performance tracking software and a Web-based training management system that enables coaches to maintain control while athletes reach their full potential. Athletes on the structured program develop flexibility, muscle recruitment and proper technique, ultimately resulting in fewer soft tissue injuries.
